Strawberry Rhubarb Gin Fizz
syrups, drinks, and a burger sauce that has been on my weekly rotation
Happy weekend everyone :)!
I will keep this short and sweet.
In this newsletter you will find…
*Homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Syrup
*Strawberry Rhubarb Iced Matcha Latte
*Strawberry Rhubarb Gin Fizz
*Old Bay Secret Sauce- Amazingggg on burgers

(You can blend this instead of straining and make a jammy pure as well!)
Makes roughly 2 Cups of Syrup
Ingredients
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Water
1.5 Cups Strawberries Halved (12 oz.)
3 Stalks Rhubarb Sliced (~1.5 cups)
3 Lemon Peels
How to make:
In a small sauce pan add all ingredients. Over medium low heat bring to a simmer. Stirring occasionally. Simmer on low for ~10-15 minutes until rhubarb is soft and strawberries are pale in color. Muddle/Mash until rhubarb and strawberries have broken down into small chunks. Strain.
If you want a thicker syrup, remove the lemon peels then blend once cooled.
Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Ingredients
3g Matcha (1.5 tsp)
60-65 ml Hot Water (~1/4 Cup)
~3/4 Cup Nut Milk (I like oat or almond)
3 Tbsp Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup
How I made it:
Measure out your matcha.
If using a traditional matcha whisk, add 15 ml of hot water to your matcha. Whisk until a dark green uniform paste forms. Continue to add the remaining hot water.
If using a milk frother. Add your matcha to a bowl/cup, add in the full amount of water. Froth.
Fill up a Glass with ice, add in syrup and nut milk. Pour over whisked matcha. Sip and enjoy :)!
Muddled Strawberry Matcha (more sweet)
Ingredients

60-65 ml Hot Water (~1/4 Cup)
~3/4 Cup Coconut Milk (I used Malk brand)
3 Tbsp Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup
3-4 Strawberries Muddled
Crushed Ice
How I made it:
Measure out your matcha.
If using a traditional matcha whisk, add 15 ml of hot water to your matcha. Whisk until a dark green uniform paste forms. Continue to add the remaining hot water.
If using a milk frother. Add your matcha to a bowl/cup, add in the full amount of water. Froth.
Muddle 3-4 Strawberries in the bottom of your glass until strawberries are jammy and broken apart. Fill with crushed ice, add in syrup and coconut milk. Pour over whisked matcha. Sip and enjoy :)!
Ingredients
2 oz. Gin (I used Hendricks)
1 oz. Lemon Juice
1 Egg White or 1 oz. Aquafaba
1 oz. Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup
Soda Water
How to make:
(using a metal tin shaker is best!)
To a shaker add lemon juice, gin, egg white and strawberry rhubarb simple syrup. Dry shake for 30 seconds.
Add ice. Vigorously shake for 30 additional seconds.
Strain into a collins glass with no ice. Add a bar spoon to the center of the cocktail and pour soda water down the side of the spoon until the glass is full.
Garnish with a peeled piece of rhubarb and serve with a straw!
Sip and Enjoy :)!

*this probably seems very random to be mixed in with this but I had multiple people ask for the recipe so here it is :)
It’s a great condiment for burgers, chicken sandwiches and so many other things.*
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
3 Tbsp Ketchup
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
1/4 Cup Grilled Chopped Yellow Onion
1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
Black Pepper
How I made it:
Using a skillet on medium heat add a small amount of oil. Once the pan is hot add diced yellow onion, allow the onions to cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to allow them to brown. Cook until golden brown and softened.
In a small In a bowl mix together all ingredients. Season to taste.
Serve with burgers!
Hope you all have an amazing weekend and a happy mothers day :)
