Happy Weekend!

I feel like as of late, I have been giving you some curveballs when it comes to my usual recipes. I love exploring new flavors and new techniques but I also love the meals where you throw everything into a pot and the flavors just SING.

This one pan dish packs in all of the spring flavors; briny, lemony, fresh and herby. Similar in style to chicken piccata this was an absolute hit in my household and was even kid approved.

Some Fun Ingredients

  • Preserved Lemons: tangy, floral, vibrant and lemony. You can find these in most grocery stores. They can be used in pasta salads, salads, dressings, soups, and one pan meals.

  • Parmesan Rinds: A burst of umami and depth that goes with any soup, roast, or one pan meal

  • Castelvetrano Olives: the superior olive (in my humble opinion). They are buttery and mild.

  • Pearl Couscous: Couscous screams spring to me, feel free to swap with orzo or fregola! (Fregola is a toasted round pasta that gives a very similar shape that couscous does, but a little more nutty in flavor).

a mix of kitchen, grocery items, skincare, home items, clothing and everything in between.

Kitchen Items:

  • Julienne Peeler: I’m usually not a fan of singular function gadgets but this saves so much time during prep for salads, slaws and spring rolls.

  • Cast Iron Braiser: This thing can be used for just about anything!

  • Pre cut butcher/parchment paper: these are a lifesaver in saving your sheet pans.

  • Sur la Table Speckled Serving Bowl: I am still absolutely obsessed with this. I like that it can be used in the oven for hot dishes and then also used for things like salads.

  • Eco Friendly Sponges: Kind Sponges, I found this brand at whole foods, I’ve tried others but they never are as soft as the “normal” sponges. These have a scrubby side and a soft side, I feel like I’m bettering the environment without sacrificing the quality.

  • Fable Home Dinnerware Set: I got the speckled white set. First impressions, it’s nice quality and dishwasher safe. I’m using it as my high traffic everyday set so I will follow up with its durability! They are running a 25% spring sale right now if you are in the market for new tableware.

Grocery:

  • Coconut Cult: A whole foods find. I love the strawberry flavor and it’s packed with gut healthy bacteria (one of my “I turned 30” decisions in bettering my health).

  • Dola Dira- Rhubarb aperitif. As much as I love an Aperol spritz, I wanted to try something different. I’ve enjoyed using this in replacement of Aperol. It’s less sweet and a little more bitter, but less bitter than Campari. (also found at Whole Foods).

  • Kewpie Mayo- (The one in the bag) I love using this for salad dressings.

  • Harmony Spice Blends: I was gifted a set, after using all of them multiple times here are my thoughts. My favorites are the Ranch Blend, Citrus Finishing salt, Mediterranean Blend. I feel like there are a ton of spice blends out there that have muddled or subtle flavor but these pack a punch. I loved using them on fish, chicken and on salad dressings. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoys using them for his weekly meal preps.

  • Urban Remedy: Cold Pressed Juices and low glycemic lemonades. I find myself buying one as a splurge/treat each week. I found these at whole foods.

  • Malk- Almond Vanilla Creamer, I finally got my hands on this I have been looking around for the last 6 months. It is SO creamy and flavorful. I appreciate that it uses “clean” ingredients. (They also have a caramel fal

Skincare:

Since turning 30, I definitely have made it more of a priority to take better care of my health and my skin. Not sure if I have any readers who also suffer from perioral dermatitis outbreaks, but I always have flare ups when the weather is changing/stress etc.

  • Azelaic Acid- If you have perioral dermatitis you need this in your skin care routine. I have tried every single trick in the book and this one has been keeping my skin at bay since I began to use it.

  • Toning Pads: Biodance Collagen Toning Pads. I am halfway through my first pack, it’s gentle on my skin and leaves it moisturized without a heavy film (thick moisturizers make my skin flare up!)

Fashion:

  • Madewell Low Slung Baggy Jeans: They are THE softest material, perfectly baggy with a cotton drawstring detail. They are casual and my most worn pair of jeans right now. (I sized down for these for a more “fitted” slouchy look)

  • Rothy’s Clogs: Machine Washable and comfortable, what more can I say. I’ve had them for just about a year and they still look brand new. I chose the color Dove!

  • Tiktok Shop Oversized hoodies: I am always skeptical with Tiktok shop, it is completely hit or miss. But I have been LIVING in this distressed dark green hoodie, they are oversized, thick and SO soft.
